C Geovany Soto hit his 20th home run Tuesday, breaking the record he shared for homers by a Cubs rookie catcher. Randy Hundley hit 19 in 1966. Soto became the first Cubs rookie to hit at least 20 homers since Billy Williams hit 25 in 1961. His seven RBI were the first by a Cub since Aramis Ramirez on Sept. 18, 2006.

"Earlier in the year, he was getting his base hits that way, driving the ball," Piniella said. "When he gets in a little bit of trouble, he tries to pull too much."
