C Chris Snyder and OF Chris Young joined Chris Burke in hitting home runs Friday in the D-backs' 12-2 victory over Houston, where Snyder and Young grew up. "The adrenaline flow is through the roof when you are playing in front of 50 family members," a smiling Young said. "It's almost like a playoff atmosphere." Young hit two home runs in his first major league game in Houston last year.

C Chris Snyder is the most efficient run-producer among catchers in the National League. Snyder, whose offense often slips under the radar because of skill at calling a game and handling a pitching staff, drove in runs with a sacrifice fly and a double Friday and leads NL catchers with an average of one RBI for every 5.1 at-bats among those who have spent at least 75 games behind the plate. Snyder, who has 46 RBIs, also is ranked among the top five among NL catchers in that group in on-base percentage at .352 and in OPS -- on-base percentage plus slugging percentage -- at .784. He has 39 walks. "I'm just trying to stay consistent," said Snyder, 27. "I just try to get on base. That has always been my approach at the plate -- see pitches and do what I can. Get a guy over. Get a guy in." Snyder has 14 RBIs in 43 at-bats since returning from the disabled list on July 20.

C Chris Snyder is hitting .300 with two home runs and eight RBIs in his last six games after homering Wednesday as the D-backs won their third consecutive series, their second on a 10-game road trip that ends with four games in Los Angeles this weekend. "We're playing the way we should be playing. We're aggressive. Guys are picking each other up," he said. "I think it's a little early to say 'anybody, anytime,' though." The D-backs adopted "anybody, anytime" as a catch phrase during a strong second half that led them to the NL West title in 2007.
