LF Raul Ibanez had a great offensive road trip even as the Mariners went 1-7. Ibanez went 19-for-34 (.559) on the trip. He had all three of Seattle's RBIs in Chicago, including hitting his 20th homer, and drove in seven runs in the eight games.

LF Raul Ibanez, who is the subject of waiver-claims rumors these days, is as marketable as ever. Since he didn't get shipped out at the trade deadline, Ibanez is assuming he's staying put, and he's putting up great numbers. He's hitting .392 for the month of August with four homers and 19 RBIs in 51 at-bats. His OPS is 1.183 after four hits Wednesday, including his 19th homer.

LF Raul Ibanez, who drove in five runs Tuesday, tied a couple of Seattle club records in the process. He now has 11 RBIs in the last two days, tying the best two-day RBI total of Ken Griffey Jr. on April 29-30, 1999. And he has 14 RBIs over three days, tying Griffey's record of April 28-30, 1999.

LF Raul Ibanez's seventh-inning grand slam was his 62nd career home run in Safeco Field. That ties him with former 2B Bret Boone for the most Safeco homers in club history. It was his second grand slam this season and the seventh of his career. He added a bases-loaded single later in the inning. And his six RBIs in the inning is a new club record. Ken Griffey Jr. had five in an inning against Detroit on April 29, 1999.

OF Raul Ibanez continues to increase his attractiveness to teams in need of left-handed hitting for the stretch drive. After hitting a grand slam Friday, Ibanez added a solo homer Saturday in Seattle's losing effort against LHP Jeremy Sowers.
